Since its inception in 2001, Great Lakes Medical Research (GLMR) has been involved in phase II - IV clinical trials in an outpatient clinical setting, focusing on patient care and education. Its research population includes rural, urban and suburban groups spanning the pediatric to geriatric populations. GLMR has completed over 120 trials covering over 10 therapeutic areas. It also offers the advantage of central IRB review for all clinical trials.

Great Lakes Medical Research is a division of Westfield Family Physicians, a private family practice group. Established in 1979, Westfield Family Physicians consists of twelve providers. There are currently six family medicine physicians, four Nurse Practitioners and two Physicians’ Assistants who provide primary health care services to residents of Chautauqua County, New York. The practice has a consistent active patient profile of ~14,000 patients where the majority of research participants are identified.
